Gear Bag
Whew! There is a lot of gear out there! But you know what? The power of the Gear Bag is really in its connectivity. We as filmmakers believe it is critical to think about each individual gear in the context of the specific circumstances it will be used. Hence, Gear Bag with KITS.

Instead of introducing each gear individually, we have put together KITS customized for specific filmmaking situations such as the “1 Person Interview Kit” or the “$20,000 Startup Kit.” Each Kit will include a list of the gear that would fit each individual situation and of course, there will be detailed reviews of main features, strength and weaknesses, and lots of more juicy details for each piece of gear included.

Wondering how different tools fit together? Try the Suggested Pairing field to get some ideas on what gear plays well together.

I've partnered with stillmotion to bring you everything you might want to know about a piece of gear. How important is it? Who is it for? What are the best features? What's missing? How long will it take me to learn it? I'm bringing you all of these juicy details and so much more..

Tutorials
Bite sized education, served just the way you like it. I have tutorials of all skill levels and in a variety of categories. Some are free, others are paid, and all are available in SMAPP.

I've partnered with the stillmotion team to bring you everything they know about filmmaking. I've got tutorials for beginners, such as how to set exposure or understanding wireless lav mics. I also have advanced tutorials where you can see a main feature (wedding) deconstructed with over two hours of content, or you can see how to hide a lav mic on anybody. If there is a certain area you want to learn
more about, just sort by category and dive in.

I’ve made the Explore tutorials based around understanding a concept, tool, or function and I’ll even show you how to make the most of it. It’ll be our little secret.

Check out my Getting Started tutorials. They tell you all about the beginning stages of a concept, tool, or function. Pretty cool, huh?

My Transitioning tutorials help you make the move from one tool or concept to another.

Choose my How To tutorials and learn all about the technical side of using a tool or applying a concept. My inner geek loves this part. Yours will too!

I brought my Deconstructing tutorials for you too. Here is where we get to take something apart and examine it piece by piece to see how it really works.

Interact
All of the tools you'll find in Interact are about helping you while you're in the field. I'm launching with four great tools and I have more on the way.
<img src="http://payload35.cargocollective.com/1/2/90608/3013017/LensSelection.jpg" width="250" height="436" width_o="250" height_o="436" src_o="http://payload35.cargocollective.com/1/2/90608/3013017/LensSelection_o.jpg" data-mid="20737069" border="0" align="left"/>

Lens Selection Tool
Choosing the right lens is about so much more than just how wide or tight you want your shot to be. The right lens choice is such an important part of storytelling yet also one of the more difficult parts of filmmaking to really grasp.

Tell me what you want your shot to look like and throw in some scenario details while you’re at it, and my trusty Lens Selection Tool will help you bring your dream shot to life in no time flat! I have effective focal lengths, a good starting distance from your subject and much more in my bag of tricks…just for you.

Get Creative
<img src="http://payload35.cargocollective.com/1/2/90608/3013017/getcreative.jpg" width="539" height="301" width_o="539" height_o="301" src_o="http://payload35.cargocollective.com/1/2/90608/3013017/getcreative_o.jpg" data-mid="20745671" border="0" align="left"/>Now, I know you’re all awesome filmmakers…but even the best of us need a hand sometimes.

When you’re out there in the field and searching for that perfect creative idea…I have it! Just ask me. I’ll share. And, if you want more…well, just add a few other packs, and I can help you get creative in different scenarios.
<img src="http://payload35.cargocollective.com/1/2/90608/3013017/JessandBrianExampleList.jpg" width="200" height="281" width_o="200" height_o="281" src_o="http://payload35.cargocollective.com/1/2/90608/3013017/JessandBrianExampleList_o.jpg" data-mid="20746032" border="0" align="left"/>
Shot List Tool
A key to a well told story is preparation. For $0.99, start using my Shot List Tool to get your ideas down, choose a focal length (wide, medium, or tight), and assign a camera stabilizing tool (Monopod, Tripod, Steadicam, etc). Keep track of your progress by checking off your shots in the field and share your shot list with other filmmakers and friends.

Gear Up!
Packing gear properly can be time consuming and somewhat mundane. Let's face it, nobody is drawn to storytelling because of the bags they get to pack.

<img src="http://payload35.cargocollective.com/1/2/90608/3013017/AudioPackingList.jpg" width="220" height="153" width_o="220" height_o="153" src_o="http://payload35.cargocollective.com/1/2/90608/3013017/AudioPackingList_o.jpg" data-mid="20745891" border="0" align="left"/>SMAPP is here to help. For $0.99, start harnessing the power of Gear Up!, a tool specifically designed to create an extensive packing list tailored for your shoot. Assign your gear to a certain bag or to individuals with an easy-to-use labeling system and share it with your friends. I've even included a handy progress bar so you can see how far you've packed.
